TOBIAS KASPAR | BLANKET (3/3) | 2024

CHF 330.00
Ausverkauft

“Wolf im Schafspelz“ (Wolf in sheep’s clothing) is a brand new woolen blanket designed and made by Swiss artist TOBIAS KASPAR .

Produced in a limited edition of 3 pieces, it is inspired by and evokes ‘de-saturated’ versions of the concrete paintings by Swiss artist Richard Paul Lohse. In fact, these geometric patterns have already gone through a cycle of appropriation as they have already been used by the artist in his iconic silkscreen series „Stripped Bare / The Gentlewoman“ (2013 - 2015). They originate from the magazine The Gentlewoman, whose designers seem to have been heavily influenced by Lohse himself.

As woolen blankets they address issues that connect modernity (and its utopias) with our contemporary post-modern anxieties and production systems. And they keep you warm company when days and nights are cold.

Tobias Kaspar is a Swiss contemporary artist whose work blurs the lines between art, fashion, and identity. Based in Zurich and Latvia, Kaspar's innovative approach is manifested in various mediums, including photography, video, and sculpture. His artworks often explore and critique social and cultural themes, inviting viewers to question and engage with the constructs of identity and consumer culture.

Kaspar is also the co-founder of Provence, an art and fashion magazine that reflects his eclectic vision and boundary-pushing ethos since 2010.
